West Coast Taekwondo Remaja & Open Championship 2024: A Journey of Triumph and Growth
Kota Belud Sabah - September 2024 : The West Coast Taekwondo Remaja & Open Championship 2024, held at Kompleks Sukan Kota Belud, was a truly memorable event for the ATSA Taekwondo family. Over the course of three exciting days, 31 dedicated students represented our academy with pride, taking on seasoned competitors from across the region. Our team achieved an impressive haul, bringing home 15 Gold, 7 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, while also venturing into a new challenge by competing in the Kyeopa (Board Breaking) category for the first time.
While the medal count is certainly a proud achievement, what truly stands out is the resilience, dedication, and unity displayed by our students throughout the event. This competition was not only a test of skill but also a meaningful journey of personal growth and friendship. Traveling together from Kota Kinabalu to Kota Belud and spending three days as a close-knit team, our students learned the value of supporting one another, overcoming challenges, and celebrating each other's successes. The experience fostered a sense of camaraderie that extended beyond the mats, reinforcing the bond within the ATSA community.
We owe our heartfelt gratitude to the parents who provided unwavering support, accompanying our students and cheering them on at every step. Their encouragement and dedication play a vital role in the success of our athletes. Additionally, we extend our thanks to the event organizers for hosting a well-coordinated and meaningful championship, which provided a platform for young athletes to grow and excel.
To all our students, whether you took home a medal or not, your determination and perseverance have made you champions in our eyes. The lessons you learned and the experiences you gained will continue to shape your journey, both in and out of the dojang. Let us keep striving for excellence, embracing challenges, and pushing ourselves to new heights as we look forward to future competitions.
Congratulations, ATSA team! The West Coast Taekwondo Remaja & Open Championship 2024 has marked yet another proud chapter in our academy's history. Let's carry this momentum forward and continue to embody the true spirit of Taekwondo.
Kota Belud Sabah - September 2024 : The West Coast Taekwondo Remaja & Open Championship 2024, held at the Kompleks Sukan Kota Belud, was an unforgettable experience for our ATSA Taekwondo team. With 31 students representing our academy, the event was more than just a tournament—it was a celebration of perseverance, teamwork, and personal growth.
A Proud Moment of Achievement
Our students competed fiercely, bringing home an impressive 15 Gold, 7 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals. Among these achievements, our team also took a bold step by participating in a new category—Kyeopa (Board Breaking)—for the first time. This new challenge tested their strength and precision, adding a unique experience to their competitive journey. Every board broken was a testament to their dedication and willingness to step outside their comfort zone. It was a thrilling moment for both students and instructors, and we couldn't be more proud of their courage to take on something new.
More Than Medals
However, at ATSA, we believe that the true measure of success is not found solely in the number of medals won, but in the character, resilience, and spirit our students demonstrated throughout the event. Every challenge, every match, every round was a lesson that contributed to their growth as martial artists and as individuals. Whether they stood on the podium or not, each student emerged stronger, both in skill and in heart.
The experience was not just about competition, but also about building bonds of friendship and team spirit. The students spent 3 days and 2 nights together, traveling from Kota Kinabalu to Kota Belud, sharing memories, supporting one another, and creating friendships that will last long after the tournament is over. These moments of camaraderie are as valuable as the medals they won, and we believe that this shared journey has strengthened them as a team.
Gratitude and Moving Forward
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents, who have shown unwavering support throughout this journey. Your belief in your children and trust in our academy means the world to us. Thank you for being there to cheer them on and for entrusting us with the task of guiding them in their Taekwondo journey. Together, we will continue to help our students grow, not only as athletes but as individuals of character and integrity.
We also extend our deep gratitude to the tournament organizers, whose efforts made this event possible and provided a platform for young martial artists to challenge themselves and shine.
To Our Students: You Are All Champions
To all our students, whether you took home a medal or not, we want you to know that you have our deepest admiration for your effort, spirit, and perseverance. Each of you is a champion in your own right, and every moment in this journey has brought you closer to your goals. Keep pushing forward, stay dedicated, and remember that **the journey matters just as much as the destination**. Your time to shine will come, and we are proud to stand by your side as you continue to grow.
Together, we will keep rising to greater heights, building resilience, and reaching for new levels of excellence. Let this be a stepping stone for future victories, both on the mat and in life.
Once again, congratulations to all our ATSA students, and thank you to everyone who made this journey possible. Let's continue to strive for greatness, both in competition and in character.
